5 Summer-related Bucket-list items

9:31 PM

It has been a few weeks post-graduation and I'm finally feeling the heat. Yes, SUMMER IS HERE! (Or actually it already has been, I was just being a couch potato and anti-social most of the time) To be perfectly honest, it's been quite painful seeing a majority of my social media friends having the time of their lives out of town or out of the country just to enjoy the Summer vacation feels. I've been pretty much sulking and wishing I'd get moments like those soon.

Pretty much the only Summer-related thing I did was go to a local beach that was actually a 30 minute drive away from the city. Now let me tell you, since I live in Zamboanga City, there aren't many nice beaches here, unless of course I go to Sta. Cruz island (which I haven't yet.. sad). So one weekend, my classmates and I decided to spend some time together at Bolong Beach, a non-white sand beach that is not really visited by many (there isn't a legit resort near by) It's really nice though once you get there, the perfect blue water plus the view of the island near by. The only downside here  is the dirty shore, since there aren't any resorts, no one really maintains its cleanliness. But it was a nice change of scenery, might I say. A good day indeed.

Of course, like the title of this blog post, I've always dreamt of having picture perfect Summers in my life. Growing up in an average family, we weren't well off enough to travel to places every year. We would only have rare times that we get to splurge on a vacation. So since I'm gonna be a working girl soon, and I'd have more opportunities to save money, I have a feeling I can get those dreamy Summer Escapades I've always wanted. That is of course, if I work hard enough. Here are my top 5 Summer-related Bucket-list items I'd like to tick off before I retire. (That's a pretty long time frame. lol)

1. Get to wear a two-piece bikini

Photo: Pinterest

Growing up, I've always been on that slightly chubby side, I'd always have that layer of flab on my tummy even if I dance almost every night. I've never really had the confidence to show off my tummy in a bikini because I know for a fact I don't look good in it. And it doesn't help that I don't have any boobage to fill in the bikini top, so it would make me look like a 2D image of a girl in a bikini. All surfaces are in-lined. HAHA. I know getting that bikini-body requires a lot of work and sacrifice, but I know soon enough I'll be up for that challenge.

2. Go to Boracay in said bikini

Photo: Wikipedia

I know Boracay is being a tad bit mainstream but when you're me and you haven't been there, you'd want a visit too, even just once. But for the most part, my Bucket-list item #2 would be just go to a really really nice white sand beach in my bikini (body). In the upcoming years, I'd be sure to pay a visit to a few pretty beaches/ islands. To name a few aside from Boracay, I'd like to visit:
  • Bantayan Island
  • Camiguin Island
  • El nido, Palawan
  • Camarines Sur (CamSur)

3.  Try Adventurous activities

Photo: Here

Oh the urge to do things like this!! I've never been the person to be afraid of heights and be a killjoy (despite my name), so I've always been game for scary dare-devil activities like these. Since it's a trend nowadays to go to Adventure parks versus the mainstream beach getaway, I am literally hungry to do something like this. Bungee jumping, 1km Ziplines, water rappelling, and ATV are some of the things I'd want to try at least once in my lifetime. I think I want to make a separate blog post for this though, so I won't go into detail. (But aaaaaaahhhh I really wanna try these stuff out!!)

4. Go out of the country with family

Like I've said in the first parts of this blog post, I'm not from a well-off family, just a simple yet happy average family, and I'm glad, don't get me wrong. But don't we just have those dreams of going to foreign places just to get a breather and not think of the problems we face now? Yup, yeah me too. And of course I'd want to bring my family with me AKA my parents because I'm an only child. Okay maybe my boyfriend too. Lol. To name a few places I'd like to visit:
  • Mykonos, Greece (the one in the photo!!! Hashtag ultimate dream)
  • Paris (or probably just get a Europe trip, like to Rome, and etc)
  • Singapore
  • Dubai
  • Korea
  • Africa
(*Heavy sighs, my time will come, I just know it)

5. Give my kids a new experience every Summer

This is the reason I said this Bucket-list should be ticked off complete before I retire. I want my kids (assuming I'd have more than one, but one is fine) to get to experience things I haven't at least once every year. I'd want them to go to places and be fascinated by the beauty of the world (that got deep quick). I want them to enjoy their youth even more than I have mine. I guess this is one of the items that SHOULD be done. I'm making sure of it.

So there you guys go, my 5 Summer-related Bucket-list items I'd want to do in my upcoming years. I am hoping the ones I chose were at least realistic for me to pursue given my situation in the future. What are your Summer Escapade dreams?

Thank you for reading! Have a great Summer!

  5. First off, I love your attire! You look summer-ready with your hat on. Haha. Your last bucketlist, though! I know I'd want to give my kids everything that they want that's why I'm working hard towards my dreams right now. Hahaha. I hope I get to wear a bikini someday, too, but that's not too near for me right now. I'm munching on the bad foods while my summer gameplan says I'd rather rock some abs this season. Hope everything gets crossed off your list soon! :)

    1. Why thank you mimi! Although I could've sported a nice flowy sleeveless top, but I opted for that. Weird of me. Didn't really expect to take good photos there. Hahaha same here!! Go for the dreams! I'm really on my toes right now deciding on what I should do in the next few months 'cause I gotta find a job soon. Oh dear. Lol. Well I still have that part of me that keeps on reaching for the bad foods but good thing I'm working out again and not being a lazy potato, so thumbs up for that. It's a start! Hahaha Thanks again Mimi! xx

  8. Whooah.. hold on, we've almost got the same bucketlist.Haha! First off, that bikini thingy. I've been wondering when on earth would I be able to wear that pair of 'revealing-so-much-flesh' clothes without getting insecured. I should be starting my own zumbathon to lose some unwanted fats right now! XD

Bungee jumping and zip lining!! Well, I'm sorta kinda afraid of heights but as they say, fear of the name only increases fear of the thing itself. This two activities has been on my bucket list ever since but I've got no right amount of budget for now - maybe someday.

Good luck for your job hunting. The post-graduate activity. Relate so much with that since I just recently graduated as well ^_^

bdw, I have nominated you on Liebster Award. IF you are interested, you can check the details HERE..
    Thanks :)

  13. I've already ticked off one of my summer list and that is to visit the famous underground river. I still have more and you gave me so much idea of what to put on mine. i've never tried wearing bikini as well and i don't i ever will because my mom won't allow me. Haha! I haven't been to Boracay also but i prefer going there in non-peak season just because i know it's full of tourists. Hoping that one by one you'll be able to tick off your list :) Good Luck and God Bless!

    Have a great day!
