Life Update: FASHION STYLING?

8:53 PM

It's been a few days since I've posted a blog post and to be honest I've got no legit excuse. To make up for that, I'm starting a new series on my blog called Life Update. I know, it's so unique, I can't believe I've just thought of it now. *Note heavy sarcasm. Okay, so maybe I'm still thinking of a catchy name, but more or less it's gonna be a blog post focusing on what's going on in my life right now. This is me going on a personal level with you guys! Hooray!

This post will come in 3 parts: "What's Up" for the things I'm currently doing or loving. "What's Next" for the things upcoming in my life or what I'm currently waiting for. Lastly, "What I'm Feeling"  for what I'm currently feeling with the things happening in my life and maybe I can insert a sort of inspirational paragraph to those feeling down or something. This post may change in the next months, so this is not it's permanent format. (Wow, this became serious all of a sudden, it's just a blog post!!)

I guess I'm boring the majority of you and you've probably exited my blog but to those still reading; NOW ON TO THE ACTUAL POST!

What's Up:

Being at home probably almost everyday has gotten me to a state one would like to call "Couch Potato". If I won't be on my laptop, I'd probably be reading a book or probably using my iPad to read an ebook. (And yes I don't exactly watch tv very often) This whole staying-at-home-because-unemployed-because-just-recently-graduated-thing has gotten quite boring and I needed to do something! Since I've been dancing pretty much all of my school life, stopping it abruptly caused me to gain a few inches and I wasn't happy with that (I mean, who would??)

At first I wanted to go to the gym, but because of some reasons you will soon find out below, I chose not to and opted for At-home working out instead. I give at least 10-30minutes of my morning before taking a bath to workout. For my routine, I've been doing a few muscle toning workouts for the first 2 weeks, but then I realized I haven't done much cardio to burn all the fat and I've read it somewhere that muscle toning will be practically useless if you don't do cardio. Now I'm doing some dancing cardio that I've found online (Youtube) and I think it works! Check out the BeFiT channel for some routines you might want to follow for your daily workout!

What's Next:

As you've probably read on my previous posts, I've just recently graduated college and I'm now facing "Real Life" as we speak. I've been asked by numerous people the same questions: "What are you up to Joy", "Where did you apply?", "Will you work soon?", and I've been answering them with consistency: No, I won't be working yet, I'll be studying again. I'll be studying Fashion Styling for a year in SoFA Design Institute in Manila.

Some of you may know that I'm currently living in Zamboanga City, a city far away from Manila. So yes, I'll be moving there next month already since classes will start on June 15. It's been quite a struggle finding a place to stay and doing all the necessary preparations because I initially planned to study Fashion Styling in Cebu in a different fashion school, but for some reasons I chose SoFA instead. After studying I plan on working right away in the same city. I mean, it may as well be the fashion capital of the Phils., so where else will I go? Although I know this is gonna be a bit tough since this is my first time away from home and  away from my family and friends, practically on my own. But I know that this is my only way to go if I'm so determined to follow my dreams. One of these days I'm sure to look back and tell myself it was all worth it.

What I'm Feeling:
Oh the feels recently. I can't even explain. Well I will because this will be useless if I don't. With all the preparations for "My Next Step" in life, I'm 70% excited, 25% nervous and 5% sad. Mostly excited because I'm finally gonna be doing what I love and I'll be exposed to the things I've always wanted learn and be a part of. I've always dreamt of being in the fashion industry ever since elementary days, I'm not even joking. So finally I'm so close to it, I just CAN'T WAAAAIT!

A bit nervous because like I've said, this is my first time being away from my parents and everybody else. Being an only child, I've always been dependent on my parents. I guess it's finally time to put my big girl shoes on and do things on my own. From commuting to buying my own groceries and making my own meals for the day, I'm sure I'd be able to survive. I hope..

I'm feeling a tinsy bit sad because I'll really miss everyone especially my parents and close friends, and I won't even mention them all because this post will probably be too long (not like this is short or anything) But someone I'll terribly miss is my boyfriend, AC, he plans on staying here to study Law so LDR feels once again. It's not really our first time being away from each other since he worked in Cebu for a few months but this time it'll be longer. And from the way it feels being away from each other for a few months, it's gonna suck even more this time around. (Excuse the language) But as we've talked about, we're gonna chase our own dreams first before settling down and chasing the same dreams as a couple. (In God's will, of course)

  2. I love posts about life updates, and I think the title suits it fine. Don't be too hard on yourself, Joy! I'm fresh out of Pre-U and I'm facing the same dilemma -- "Where are you going to study next?" "Have you applied for Uni yet?" "What course are you going to study?" It gets annoying, really, but I know people mean well, haha.

I'm wishing you lots of luck and sending you lots of love and support for your future! Have a great week! :)
